Superheroes in Training at Venue 360

Over half of the Venue 360 team recently took part in comprehensive first aid training, held right here in our Riverside Suite. Staff from across the business attended, including senior managers, duty managers, gym instructors, bar staff, leisure assistants and even our tennis coaches.
CEO Jason Goodall said: “It was fantastic to see so many staff taking part and making themselves available for such an important course and qualification. Paul, our first aid trainer and assessor, delivered the session in a way that was fun, engaging and directly tailored to the needs of our business. Given the nature of what we do, first aid situations arise regularly, so ensuring our staff have both the knowledge and the confidence to respond effectively is absolutely essential.”
Alongside core first aid skills, the team also refreshed their CPR training and practiced using our onsite defibrillator (located in the office behind reception). This life saving device was used just under three years ago when long standing gym member and squash player Barry collapsed near the courts. Thanks to the swift action of our trained staff, immediate CPR and early use of the AED, Barry survived a cardiac arrest.
Today, and pretty much most week since the incident, we’re delighted to see Barry here each week, enjoying his squash sessions, working out in the gym and relaxing with a coffee in the Balcony Café Bar. His story is a powerful reminder of why investing in first aid training is so invaluable - and why we’ll continue to prioritise it.

New Class - Power Hour 45

We’re excited to introduce Power Hour 45, led by Lifelines instructor Joy. Starting Wednesday 11th March at 6:45pm, this strength-focused class is designed to challenge your body and sharpen your focus.
An hour's workout in just 45 minutes - using a combination of resistance bands, free weights, kettlebells, and bodyweight exercises, no two sessions will feel the same. If you’re ready to push your strength to the next level, this class is for you!

Three Types of Exercise to Boost Your Health

Many people stick to just one style of training and assume it’s enough. However, research shows we benefit most when we include three key types of exercise: aerobic fitness, muscle strengthening, and balance training.
Focusing on just one area can limit progress, while a varied routine improves overall performance, reduces injury risk, and keeps things interesting. Activities like Yoga and Pilates combine multiple elements in one session.
For a well-rounded programme, aim for:
Aerobic training at least twice per week
Strength training twice per week
A balance or core-focused class such as Function Fit, Pilates, Yoga, or a
mat-based core session

Exercise Of the Month!

This month we’re focusing on the Goblet Squat!
Choose an appropriate dumbbell and perform as many repetitions as possible until you really feel the burn in your quads. Rest for 30 seconds and repeat for two more sets.
Technique is key: Hold the dumbbell securely at chest height, keep your chest lifted, and lower until your elbows touch your knees. Ensure your knees stay behind your toes, then drive back up to standing.
Simple… but definitely not easy!
Lifelines Fantasy Football
We are coming towards the end of the season with members getting very competitive in the gym. We have a very close run competition ahead of us, leading the way is Gary although last years winner Jordan is close on his heels. Back in third and fourth place are Keith and Annie, looking to mount a late challenge on the two front runners, lets see what happens over the coming weeks!

Junior Tennis Success Continues at Venue 360!

Our junior tennis club is going from strength to strength, with several young players achieving fantastic results over the winter season. One standout star is Maya, a dedicated member of our junior programme whose hard work and commitment continues to shine through.
Maya is always on court giving her all, and her efforts have truly paid off - she has recently been selected for the LTA’s East Regional Performance Squad. This is a brilliant achievement and a testament to her passion for the sport.
In January, Maya travelled to Norwich for her first regional training session. While there, she took the opportunity to compete in a 9U Grade 4 event - and she didn’t just take part… she won the entire tournament!
Her performance displayed outstanding skill, determination, and a champion’s mindset.
We are incredibly proud of her continued progress and success.
