Investing In Tennis, Refurbished Outdoor Courts Now Open!
We’re delighted to share that our two refurbished outdoor tennis courts are now open following a major investment in September.
The project saw Courts 2 and 3 transformed, with the existing carpet surface removed, root damage addressed, new base layers installed where required and a brand-new carpet surface laid.
The result is two fantastic courts that provide an improved playing experience and will help support the future of tennis at Venue 360 for years to come.
We have not only dealt with the court issues, but we have also gone for a brand-new look in terms of the court colour, moving away from the green and terracotta combination of 30 years, for a new vibrant cyan and navy colour scheme.
Early feedback from the tennis coaches and others playing on them, is that they are loving the new surface and claim they are a vast improvement on the previous courts. This latest development formed part of a wider programme of improvements to our tennis facilities. Over the last year, we have invested more than £90,000 into tennis, including the installation of new LED floodlights on the outdoor courts, improvements to indoor tennis facilities and a range of essential maintenance and refurbishment works designed to enhance the customer experience.
The investment benefits everyone who uses our facilities, from participants in our popular junior tennis programme and adult tennis club to members, coaching clients and pay & play customers. Whether you’re taking your first steps into the sport, playing socially with friends or competing regularly, these improvements ensure our facilities remain among the best in the area.
The completion of these courts demonstrates our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality facilities supporting the long-term future of tennis at Venue 360.

A Raging Success!
What a night! Our first live music event was an absolute belter and we couldn’t have asked for a better turnout.
The Balcony bar was buzzing as The Soul Music Collective took to the stage, bringing great tunes and plenty of energy to the evening! With good drinks, great company and lots of singing and dancing, it was fantastic to see so many people enjoying our first live music night.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the event such a raging success, and of course, a massive shout-out to The Soul Music Collective for keeping the place rocking!

Think you’ve got a good eye? It’s time to put your guessing skills to the test this October!
Our spooky Guess How Many Are in the Jar competition is running throughout the month, with a jar full of creepy eyeballs and pumpkin treats.
The question is, how many are hiding inside?
Pop in, take a good look and write down your best guess. The person who gets closest to the correct number will win lunch for two!
There’s no counting allowed, so you’ll have to trust your instincts and hope your guess is a good one!
The competition runs throughout October, with the lucky winner announced in November’s Newsletter.

Connor Completes Half Marathon!
A huge congratulations to Connor, one of our brilliant Lifelines instructors, who recently completed his second half marathon, finishing in 2 hours 41 minutes and achieving a new personal best!
Taking place locally in Bedford, the race was well attended, but with temperatures rising to 25°C, the warm conditions made the challenge that little bit tougher.
Reflecting on the day, Connor said:
“The event was incredible, the heat not so much! I was aiming for 2 hours 30 minutes, but I’m very happy with the time I got with only six weeks of training.”
And Connor isn’t stopping there, as he’s already looking ahead to his next half marathon in Milton Keynes at the beginning of December.
“I can’t wait to run my next one... bring it on!”

Is My Blood Pressure Too High?
High blood pressure is very common, particularly as we get older, but it usually has no symptoms, which means you may not realise your blood pressure is high unless you have it checked.
There are several things that can increase your chances of developing high blood pressure. These include getting older, having close relatives with high blood pressure, eating an unhealthy diet that is high in salt, being overweight, smoking, drinking too much alcohol and experiencing ongoing stress.
So, what does your blood pressure reading actually mean?
Blood pressure is measured using two numbers, such as 130/80, with the first number being higher than the second. According to the NHS, your blood pressure is usually considered high if it is 140/90 or higher when checked by a healthcare professional, or 135/85 or higher when checked at home.
Here at Lifelines, we regularly offer blood pressure checks to our members. If you’d like to have yours checked, simply speak to a member of the team.
Paul Completes Lithuanian Marathon
A huge well done to Paul, who recently travelled to Lithuania to take on the Vilnius Marathon, completing the full distance in an impressive 4 hours 15 minutes!
Paul took on the challenge over a two-lap course and put in a fantastic effort to make it all the way to the finish line. Completing a marathon is no small achievement, and it’s great to see one of our members taking on such an incredible challenge.
A fantastic achievement and a huge congratulations from everyone at Lifelines. Well done, Paul!
Exercise Of The Month: Wall Hold Challenge
Fancy putting your strength to the test? This month, we’re challenging you to take on the Wall Hold Challenge!
The aim is simple: see if you can hold the position for one minute, with your back against the wall and your legs bent to a 45-degree angle.
Want to make things a little tougher? Take on the added challenge by holding a 5kg medicine ball horizontally out in front of you while you complete the hold.
Grab a member of the team to time your attempt and, if you complete the full minute, add your name to our completed challenge sheet!

We have a fantastic opportunity for a confident and enthusiastic individual to join our team of Leisure Duty Managers at Venue 360, supporting the day-to-day operations of our busy leisure facilities.
As a Leisure Duty Manager, you will demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills, a customer focused approach and the ability to manage day to day operations in a busy environment.
In addition to operational responsibilities, there is scope to become involved in digital marketing or sports coaching allowing you to broaden your skills and make a wider impact within the business.
£14.15 per hour
Approx. 30 hours (4 days) a week across a 4 week rolling rota (shifts vary between daytime, evenings, and weekends)
