Back To School, Back To Work - Work From Our Balcony Bar!

As the summer holidays come to an end and routines start to return, it’s the perfect time to ease back into work with a change of scenery. Rather than heading straight back to the office, why not make our Balcony Bar your workspace for the day?

Bring your laptop, order a coffee, and settle into a relaxed environment where you can comfortably work through emails, attend meetings, and tackle your to-do list. Whether you’re looking for a productive spot to work remotely, meet with a colleague, or enjoy an informal business catch-up, our Balcony Bar provides a welcoming setting away from the traditional office environment.

Combining a comfortable atmosphere with great food and drink, it’s an ideal place to stay focused while enjoying a more flexible way of working. Simply choose your favourite drink or something to eat, find a seat, and make yourself at home.

Please note that guests wishing to use the Balcony Bar as a workspace are required to purchase food or beverages throughout their visit.

Good Luck Paul!

We would like to wish Paul all the best as he takes on the Lithuania Marathon.

While many marathons are associated with major cities both at home and abroad, Paul has chosen a rather different destination for his latest challenge.

The opportunity arose after Paul’s sister decided she wanted to visit Lithuania for a weekend, which ultimately led to the marathon becoming part of the plan.

Paul’s biggest concern, however, may not be the race itself, but where he’ll be watching the Manchester United v Manchester City derby after the marathon!

Good luck, Paul, and all the best for race day.

New Term, New Tennis Programme

Soul Music Collective picture of band

Our hugely popular Junior Tennis Programme is back this September, offering children the perfect opportunity to learn, improve, and enjoy the game of tennis.

Led by our experienced Head Coach, Danny Pymont, and his team of qualified coaches, the upcoming 15-week term promises to provide a fun, welcoming, and supportive environment where every player can thrive. With sessions available for children aged 4-18 years, designed to cater for all abilities, there really is something for every child.

Running right through to Christmas, the programme focuses on building confidence, improving technique, and developing key tennis skills through engaging sessions tailored to each age group and ability level.

Along the way, children will stay active, make new friends, and enjoy plenty of fun on court.

Book online or with reception to secure your child’s place today: https://www.venue360.co.uk/kids-tennis

We can’t wait to welcome both new and returning players back to the court this September!

Celebrating Two Truly Valued Team Members

Soul Music Collective picture of band

Over the past year, two of our most valued and longest-serving team members, Jackie and Debs, have begun reducing their working hours as they move closer to retirement.

Jackie made the move to part-time hours last year, and Debs has unfortunately started to cut back slightly as she focuses on her life beyond Venue 360 with a move back towards her beloved Newcastle.

Between them, Jackie and Debs have dedicated an incredible 60 years of service to our venue. Throughout that time, they have been outstanding ambassadors, building strong relationships with our members and consistently delivering the warm, friendly, and professional service that has become synonymous with our venue.

In an age where exceptional customer service can sometimes feel like a rarity, Jackie and Debs have continually set the benchmark. Their commitment, knowledge, and genuine care for our members have not only enhanced the experience of countless visitors but have also provided a standard for colleagues to aspire to.

We are therefore delighted to be able to support their requests for a better work-life balance while retaining their invaluable experience and presence within the team.

We would like to thank them both for their remarkable contribution over the years and look forward to continuing to benefit from their expertise, dedication, and friendly faces for as long as possible.

New Tennis Courts Coming Soon!

Improvements are well underway on our outdoor tennis courts. The new tarmac surface

has now been laid and this week the brand-new carpet will be installed to create an even better playing experience for all our members and pay and play bookings.

We’ve also gone for a fresh new look, any guesses on what the new court colours will be?

Congratulations to Alan and Charlotte

We would like to congratulate Alan and Charlotte, who have excelled in their fitness journeys by reducing body fat and improving muscle mass.

Since joining, Alan has lost over five stone and has recently focused on reducing his body fat before increasing his weight training.

Charlotte has been attending a wide range of classes, including early morning Circuits, Yoga, Pilates, and evening sessions. She often follows her classes with a further 45 minutes on the stair climber in the gym.

Both members have also maintained a strict, healthy diet, which has helped them achieve their impressive results.

Well done to you both! Your achievements are a credit to your hard work and an inspiration to others.

Exercise Boosts Brain Power

Regular exercise does more than benefit your physical health. Research shows that staying active can improve cardiovascular fitness, strengthen muscles and bones, and also support brain health.

A growing body of evidence suggests that exercise can boost memory, improve mood, enhance cognitive function, and help reduce the effects of stress. By staying active, you can support both your mental and physical wellbeing.

Exercise Helps Protect Against Stress

Long-term stress can contribute to a range of health concerns, including high blood pressure, anxiety, depression, and a weakened immune system. Regular exercise acts as a natural stress reliever, helping the body and mind cope more effectively with everyday challenges.

Making time for exercise is one of the simplest ways to support your overall health, wellbeing, and brain function.

Exercise of the Month: The Surrender Squat

Step 1:

Stand tall with your hands behind your head, keeping your elbows wide, chest lifted and core engaged throughout the movement.

Step 2:

Step your right leg back and gently lower your right knee to the floor, maintaining good posture and control

Step 3:

Lower your left knee to the floor until you are in a kneeling position. Keep your chest lifted and squeeze your glutes to help maintain stability.

Step 4:

Step your right foot forward and place it firmly on the floor in front of you.

Step 5:

Bring your left foot forward and press through your heel to rise smoothly back to a standing position.

Step 6:

Return to your starting position, keeping your core engaged and your elbows wide.

Step 7:

Repeat the movement, alternating the leading leg with each repetition to ensure both sides work evenly.
